Over the last two weeks, Oklahoma has been hit hard by tornados. Our bodies and minds are tired, but our spirits and compassion for our fellow Okies can't be squashed.
On a lighter note, my family has its priorities when faced with entering our shelter coffin in the garage. My 12 year old, Aidan, always makes sure that he brings his "new" KD basketball shoes. "Why?" I ask him. "Because, Mom, they are important to me," he quips back at me. Also in the shelter, along with the water, snacks, iPhones, and flashlights? Two of Aidan's soccer balls.
I guess we won't be bored or shoeless during a tornado....
